Oregon vs. Ohio State Same Game Parlay Picks: Ducks in Trouble in Columbus

Both Oregon and Ohio State are coming off Week 1 wins, but neither looked overly impressive in doing so. Ohio State came out flat against Minnesota and went into halftime trailing the Golden Gophers. Eventually, their talent prevailed, but they did not look sharp. As for Oregon, they came in as 20-point favorites over Fresno State and won by just a touchdown at home

College Football is the best. Week 1 was awesome and now we have a marquee matchup for Week 2 between Oregon and Ohio State. One of my favorite ways to bet college football games is the Same Game Parlay, so I’ve decided to break down an Oregon vs. Ohio State Same Game Parlay for Week 2.

3-Leg Same Game Parlay @ +260 - $50 wager wins $130

Same Game Parlay Leg 1: Over 63.5 @ -105

63.5 points in a game is a lot, even for the high-paced college games. But, our Same Game Parlay pick is starting with the over in Oregon vs. Ohio State.

To start with this, let’s take a look at Week 1 and how each defense performed.

Oregon hosted Fresno State last week. To be fair to the Ducks, Fresno State is a high-powered offense. Jake Haener and Ronnie Rivers are big-time players and stopping them is no easy task. But, 24 points at home to the Bulldogs is not the way they wanted to start their season. Haener threw for 298 yards and a TD and also rushed for a score.

This Ohio State is much more talented than that Fresno State squad. As a matter of fact, they’re probably more talented than any offensive unit in the entire country. So, I’m counting on potentially 40+ points from the Buckeyes in their home opener.

The Ohio State defense is where this over really comes into play. They are not good. Year after year we’ve become accustomed to them being a dominant unit, but that is not the case this year as we saw against Minnesota. If Ohio State thought stopping Mohamed Ibrahim was a nightmare, the CJ Verdell, Travis Dye and Anthony Brown 3-headed monster is going to be even tougher.

Same Game Parlay Leg 2: Ohio State -13.5 @ -110

The line on this game is up to Ohio State -14.5. But, the line that DraftKings is offering for their Same Game Parlay is -13.5. This is how I’m suggesting you play this. If the 13.5 is still available as the base point spread when you go to place your Same Game Parlay, take it. If not, go to alternative spreads and take it at 13.5. It’s important that you get this under two TDs.

This is how I seeing this game playing out. Ohio State, in front of their home crowd for the first time this season, gets out to a big lead. I think we’ll see CJ Stroud start much sharper than he did in Minnesota and get a Buckeyes team that puts up close to 30 in the first half.

However, I also think we’re going to get a slow second half that sees Oregon make a comeback. There is a real chance that OSU goes into the fourth quarter up 42-21, benches their starters and Oregon scores a touchdown in garbage time to make this one look closer than it actually was.

That two-touchdown mark is crucial for this play.

Same Game Parlay Leg 3: Haltime/Fulltime – OSU/OSU

I don’t have a great third leg for this Same Game Parlay pick. If you want to take the first two plays by themselves, go for it. That two-leg parlay comes in at +220. But, this is an easy enough leg to add to it that gets it up to +260.

Like I said earlier, I like OSU to come out and start fast and win the game. The only time I see Oregon hanging with them is in garbage time. This Ohio State offense is going to score points in bunches and I am predicting a wire-to-wire win for OSU in Columbus.
