Montana State Bobcats vs North Dakota State Bison Prediction

These two teams haven't played a game since middle December. Montana State knocked off South Dakota State, 31-17 in the semifinals while North Dakota State knocked off James Madison, 20-14. On the year, quarterback Cam Miller has thrown for 1,318 yards and has been given more of an opportunity to throw the ball in the last couple of months. The most attempts Miller has had in a game this season has been 23, so it's right to assume that North Dakota State wants to run the football. Big-time play-maker Hunter Luepke is listed at fullback but has 73 attempts for 461 yards on the ground with five touchdowns. He's averaged 6.3 yards per carry this season, which is truly remarkable. In reality, it's been mostly Tamerik Williams, who has rushed for 718 yards and 6.2 yards per carry along with 12 touchdowns. But Williams struggled to get going in the semifinals with just 19 yards on eight attempts. North Dakota State will really want to get him going again. In Montana State's win over South Dakota State, quarterback Tommy Mellott had a day. He threw 10 completions on 15 attempts for 233 yards while also rushing 34 times for 155 yards. Mellott has had some big rushing days previously but never was able to throw for anywhere close to 200 yards this season. Mellott didn't even start the season as the QB1 but quickly shined on the ground and now has some ability in the air apparently. In the regular season, teams had trouble scoring on Montana State all season. If you look up and down each game, teams consistently scored around seven or ten points per game. Montana State is an elite defense and if the offense can shine as they did in the semifinals, Montana State can absolutely pull off this upset. Let's take the points in the FCS Championship.
