The fact that they are playing this game is insane.  The fact that it's the only football game is even worse because this game shouldn't be played. LSU has no QB and only 40 scholarship players available (missing the most players of any bowl-eligible team). This team is a mess right now and if they beat Kansas State then they deserve it, but the only way they win this game is if Kansas State comes in with a Wesley Snipes "White Men Can't Jump" attitude that they are unbeatable.

They have no head coach yet as Brian Kelly is just watching and Brad Davis, the Offensive Line Coach will be the HS.  As we mentioned, their QB Max Johnson is at Texas A&M and they don't want to start Garrett Nussmeier for one game so he loses his redshirt status (all 4 scholarship QBs are gone).  So they have 3 choices at QB: a walk-on, a WR who was a QB/WR in high school and another walk-on, all guys who have never played in college.

On top of that, their starting RB is out (Davis-Price) and their best defensive players, linebacker Damone Clark and defensive lineman Neil Farrell Jr., opted out.

Lots of stats won't really matter in this game as depleted as LSU is but the Tigers are 29th in the nation in passing offense, with an average of 264.2 yards per game through the air, while they are just 116th in rushing offense, with 109.3 yards per contest.

With no real QB with experience, teams usually go to the run and a makeshift offense, which is what we expect tonight from LSU. The problem with that is Kansas State is 27th in the nation at stopping the run and allows only 3.6 yards per rush.  This game will be a slow, methodical, defensive game as Kansas State is 101st in total yards and isn't an offensive juggernaut.

Kansas State has no opt-outs and a lot of seniors who would love a win, especially against the SEC.  Kansas State is a rushing team with numerous games over 200 yards rushing, and they averaged 162 yards a game.  LSU still has a great defense, even without their best guys. Yhey only gave up 138 yards a game, good for 46th in the country.

With a QB who is not 100% themselves, we expect Kansas State to run as their best player is dual-threat Deuce Vaughn, who had over 1,700 total yards this season. We expect Deuce to be the star tonight and do what he has all year.  Deuce is from Texas so a chance to shine in his home state should motivate him to deliver a big game.

With all the variables in this disgusting game and all the guys out for LSU we just can't see these walk-ons leading them anywhere but back home with a loss. We have seen enough of these games during the bowl season and this looks a lot like Baylor-Ole Miss. Not to mention, that was a backup and this is a walk-on QB. LSU will have trouble scoring and if you can't score, you can't win. Lay less than a touchdown but we fully expect at least a 2-TD win by Kansas State tonight as the Deuce will be loose. Wildcats roar tonight in Texas.
