New Mexico State vs. Nevada Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds: Donovan King Key in Matchup
I wasn't even going to bet on this game, but when I was looking over my card, it hit me that I said I was betting every game. If I said I was betting every game, then how the hell am I supposed to skip one and still be every game?
That would mean I lied to myself which is the worst person to lie to. You get caught every single time you do it. It's just dumb. In my defense, there was a reason that I was skipping this game. The reason is, that the only thing I really like is the under and I hate betting the under. The other problem is I like New Mexico State at +7.5 but they were just +12.5 not long ago. It's hard to get excited about holding a +7.5 ticket when there are other people out there with 12.5s.
It just is. But instead of doing something you don't want to do like betting an under, you can always look at the alternative lines. There's plus money over there.
Let's see how this one is going to go down. Come check out my prediction, picks, and odds for New Mexico State vs. Nevada.

New Mexico State vs. Nevada Line Movement
New Mexico State vs. Nevada Prediction
This one is at DraftKings because I'm not seeing alt lines at very many other books. Not at FanDuel or BetMGM which is sad because there should be alt lines everywhere for every game. That's how it would be if I was in charge. I'd also have a no-tolerance policy for books that didn't cooperate. Firm but fair. That's what I always say.
Here's the thing about this game. I think New Mexico State can win this thing. They're not that bad (probably). Their new coach, Jerry Kill, has legitimately said that he wants to "slow down the tempo." That's awful if you ask me but doing that gives bad teams a chance to say in games. I'm not saying these kids are going to be successful but killing the clock is a start. They actually have two running backs that could possibly have success so there is that. Seven plus minutes drives are not off the table.
One reason the Aggies could have success on the ground is the fact that everyone is gone from Nevada's 8-5 team last season. Including their coach. The new guy, Ken Wilson, has never even been a head coach before. Now he gets a chance with a team that just lost Carson Strong and all of his top targets in the passing game. They are going from Air Raid to ground and pound. It's tough to imagine that will be an overnight success. Things just don't work like that.
Since it likely won't be a track meet, New Mexico State could keep this close with their defense. I know they sucked last year and gave up more yards per game than pretty much everyone but they have a bunch of kids coming back. I read somewhere that nine guys are returning on that side of the ball. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing but what if they were just young last year? Plus maybe the offense keeps them off the field this time around. All I'm saying is there is no chance I'd lay 7.5 with Nevada and taking under 48 is completely out of the question. We might as well play this +125 banger. Our hands are tied.
New Mexico State vs. Nevada Pick
