West Virginia vs. Pittsburgh Prediction

The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Pitt Panthers will renew an old-school rivalry on Thursday night from Pittsburgh. The Backyard Brawl returns after the teams have not met once over the last decade. This is a game college football should have every year because it is obvious these two teams hate each other.

Pitt transfer QB Kedon Slovis made some noise at a team pep rally this week, saying a bad word before he said the word, Pitt. You can understand what he said, and that feeling is mutual. These two teams bring in transfer QBs who are well decorated. Slovis comes from USC, and at one time, he was expected to be a top-level QB. Pitt still believes the talent is there, and they are hoping he will have a breakout season in the ACC. . He will have big shoes to fill as Kenny Pickett was about as good as any QB in the nation a season ago.\

West Virginia brings in JT Daniels from Georgia. He was a part of the national championship team a season ago. Some thought he should’ve been the starter all year, but when you win a championship with another QB, it is tough to argue. Daniels will look for a fresh start and to show the nation how good he is.

I am backing Pitt on the -7 spread tonight. I will buy the hook and trust the home team. I expect their offense to score with ease all night long. This is not a great West Virginia defense, and Pitt has playmakers all over the field. West Virginia will likely be able to put up some points, but Pitt is the much better defense in this game. I trust that they can force a couple of turnovers and get more stops when they have to. I am riding with the home team tonight in the Pitt Panthers.
