Houston vs. Texas Tech Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds
The Houston Cougars are coming off of one of the most entertaining games of week one. Clayton Tune and co. defeated UTEP 37-35 in double overtime, last week and battled back from a 21-7 first-half deficit. The senior signal caller was Mr. Do It All for the Cougars, last week as he threw for 206-yards and tossed three touchdowns while adding 51-yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, the Red Raiders dominated FCS side Murray State in their season opener. However, it wasn't all roses for Joey McGuire's squad as Oregon transfer and starting QB, Tyler Shough went down with a shoulder injury during the team's 63-10 drubbing of the Racers, last weekend. The senior will reportedly be out for a few weeks and sophomore QB, Donovan Smith will fill the void in the meantime. Smith was on fire after taking over for Shough, last week en route to a 14 for 16, 221-yard, and four touchdown stat line in just two-plus quarters.

Houston vs. Texas Tech Prediction
Following a completely opposite spectrum of results in week one, it may seem easy to take Texas Tech, especially as underdogs. However, with all due respect to Murray State, Houston faced much stiffer competition in the form of UTEP, last week, and something has to be said for battling back from a 21-7 deficit on the road to defeat the Road Runners in double overtime. However, the Red Raiders, as always, seem to have yet another prolific offense, led by Tyler Shough, however, it may be Donovan Smith's time in Lubbock as Though went down with an apparent shoulder injury in their 63-10 blowout win over the Racers.
The injury will reportedly keep the senior out of action for a few weeks, which is why oddsmakers aren't too sure where to lay the line for this one with sophomore, Donovan Smith under center. It may be best to stay away from either team and take the total in what's sure to be a bonafide shootout.
