UCF vs Louisville Prediction

UCF played a bad SC State squad and blew them out as expected. UCF is well aware that tonight they will have a tougher team to beat in the Cardinals of Louisville.

Lousiville is looking for a successful season after struggling the last few years. The Cardinals have not turned in a winning season since 2019 when they went 8-5. This is a team that has not had double-digit wins since 2013. Malik Cunningham will be the signal caller this year, and he is the guy that the Cardinals need to step up and dominate. He has shown how great he can be but has not been able to piece everything together at once.

UCF enters this game looking to stay undefeated in the young season. UCF has enjoyed a lot of success as they have had winning seasons every year in the last five years. This is a well-respected program now and a team that went undefeated back in 2017. They followed up that undefeated year with a 12-1 record in 2018. Last season they went 9-4 and brought back a lot of the same players.

There is one difference at the quarterback spot as they turn to former Ole Miss Rebel John Rhys Plumlee. Rhys Plumlee is a kid with a ton of experience, but he lost his job at Ole Miss to Matt Coral and has found a new home with Gus Malzahn and the Knights.

I am backing UCF tonight to take care of business at home, Louisville has horrible defense, and I do not think they can shut down this high-powered UCF offense. We know how this UCF offense likes to play, and I trust that their pace will be too much for the Cardinals to handle. Defensively, I believe that UCF has improved and that they will be able to limit this Louisville offense, which looked really bad in week one. Lastly, they will have the crowd behind them tonight as this place should be rocking for Friday night football.
