Florida State has started their season with a bang as they are now 2-0 including a road victory against LSU, where they led for most of the game before allowing what appeared to be a game-tying touchdown on the last play of the game. LSU then missed the ensuing extra point, and they escaped Death Valley with a win to start 2-0.

Florida State has looked very solid on both sides of the ball as they held Duquesne to 164 total yards in week 1 while putting up 638 yards of offense and then continued with their success against LSU as their defense forced two turnovers and only allowed 209 passing yards.

Louisville vs Florida State Prediction

Now Florida State goes on the road to face a Louisville squad that is coming off a massive win. Louisville went into UCF and their defense really stepped up in the second half as they did not allow a single point past the second quarter en route to a second-half comeback win in a low-scoring, 20-14 game.

In that game, UCF was able to run for over 200 yards and was also very efficient as they averaged 5.5 yards per carry. UCF was plagued by the play of the new quarterback, John Rhys-Plumlee who complete less than 50% of his passes, only 131 passing yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. Plumlee is a transfer from Ole Miss who got exposed a bit in that game and I think Louisville will have a much tougher test against Florida State quarterback, Jordan Travis.

Travis has been incredibly efficient so far through two games as he completed 61% of his passes vs Duquesne and 73% against LSU, and more importantly, he did not turn the ball over in either of those games. Over the last few seasons, Louisville has been a bend but not break-type defense, even at their best.

I fully expect Jordan Travis and this upstart 2022 Florida State squad to continue their momentum on the road vs a Louisville team that I believe is due for some regression after a strong road performance against UCF. Florida State should be able to sustain drives on offense behind a strong running game and an offense that has taken great care of the ball so far. With that being said, I am rolling with FLORIDA STATE ML at -130 for (1.5U) as one of my most confident College Football Picks of the Day.
