Merrimack vs. Harvard Prediction
Asking a team to cover a 27-point spread is a back ask but is Harvard up to the test? They are bringing back senior quarterback, Charlie Dean to start again. He was the starter last year before suffering a season-ending injury against Princeton.
In Harvard's season opener last year, Dean put up just 94 passing yards as Harvard ran their way to a 44-9 victory over Georgetown. No seriously, they ran for a whopping 335 yards and four touchdowns.
Harvard's offensive line is impressive as both of Harvard's running backs, Aaron Shampklin and Aidan Borguet found success rushing the ball. This team had 12 players earn a spot on the preseason All-Ivy Team.
For Merrimack, the question is can they keep it within four scores (ouch) to pull off the cover? As wild as this sounds, I don't think they do it. Yes, Jack Zergiotis is a big dual-threat quarterback but the Harvard defense should be able to contain him.
Give me Harvard tonight by a score of 42-10 for a nice, easy cover.
