South Carolina vs. Georgia Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds
Georgia has been extremely impressive to start the season as they have yet to allow a touchdown through their first two games. They lost some key pieces from their defense to the NFL draft including star defensive lineman, Jordan Davis, but it appears they have re-tooled and have the same caliber defense as last year's national championship squad, if not better. They only allowed three points to Oregon, who just put up over 70 points on Eastern Washington, and they shut out Samford who just could not compete on the offensive and defensive lines as Georgia allowed just 19 rushing yards while putting up 479 yards on offense.

South Carolina vs. Georgia Prediction
Now the Bulldogs go on the road to face a South Carolina squad that is still trying to find out its identity. Oklahoma transfer, Spencer Rattler, adds some experience and talent to their offense who hasn't had a great quarterback play over the past few seasons, and he will likely be the best quarterback UGA has seen so far this season. On the other side of the ball, Stetson Bennett returns to lead the Georgia offense and he has gotten off to a fantastic start as he has thrown for 668 total yards, completed 75% of his passes, thrown for three touchdowns, and has not turned the ball over a single time through two games.
South Carolina's strong suit on the season has been their pass defense as they held Georgia State to 111 yards passing on 7-29 from the field and held Arkansas to just 162 yards through the air. I do not believe Stetson Bennett will be able to air it out on this defense, but I do envision Georgia being able to have a lot of success on the ground. South Carolina has allowed over 200 rushing yards in both of their games so far and Georgia is a team who loves to dominate on the offensive line and establish their running game to set up the play-action pass. Georgia has almost a pro-style offense in that sense, and they are very methodical in their drives.
Considering how well South Carolina has defended the pass, I believe Georgia will have a huge focus on running the ball and sustaining drives which should lead to a lot of time being bled off the clock. Georgia's defense should be able to contain Spencer Rattler and a very anemic South Carolina offense that was only able to score two offensive touchdowns against a very weak Georgia State defense and was aided with two blocked punts that were both returned for touchdowns.
With that being said, I am rolling with the 1H UNDER 30 at -110 (FanDuel) and Full Game UNDER 56 at -112 (Circa) for 1U each as two of my most confident picks on the early slate, as I think Georgia will really control the clock with slow and methodical drives while their defense stifles South Carolina from finding consistent offensive success.
South Carolina vs. Georgia Picks
- 1U 1H UNDER 30 at -110 (Bet $110 to win $100)
- 1U Full Game UNDER 56 at -112 (Bet $112 to win $100)
