Oregon vs. BYU Prediction
The BYU Cougars vs. the Oregon Ducks will clash on Saturday afternoon for what should be one of the best games of the day. The Cougars are fresh off a double overtime victory over the Baylor Bears last Saturday, while Oregon enters this one fresh off a win over Eastern Washington in which they scored seventy points. Oregon was blown out in week one when they played the nation's top team, the Georgia Bulldogs.
Despite the lopsided loss, they find themselves back in the top 25, and they will look to show why they belong today. Oregon was active in the transfer portal in the off-season, landing former Auburn stand-out Bo Nix to be their new signal caller. They also made a switch at the head coaching position bringing in former Georgia coordinator Dan Lanning. Oregon is still confident that they can make some noise this year despite the poor week one performance.
The PAC 12 is wide open this season, and you have to figure that they will be heard from. BYU has to feel good after beating Baylor as they showed they belong in the Big 12. BYU will soon be a Big 12-team, and the knock-on them has always been that they do not play a tough schedule. That is not the case this year, as they are playing back-to-back blue blood programs. It will be interesting to see how BYU handles this atmosphere today, coming off of that emotional victory over Oregon. This is a talented bunch led by Jaren Hall at the QB position.
I am all over the Ducks today. This is the perfect letdown spot for BYU and the perfect bounce-back spot for Oregon after being embarrassed by Georgia. Oregon is a much better team than they showed in week one, and BYU also is not Georgia. This is a good BYU team, but it is all about the spot that they are in. It is extremely difficult to win back-to-back games over opponents like Baylor and Oregon. Oregon should come out fired up for this game and use the crowd as a boost to get past BYU. I expect a huge game from Bo Nix and this Oregon offense today. I think they should be getting at least a touchdown, so a -3 spread is a no-brainer for me. Let’s stay hot today!
