Virginia Tech vs. West Virginia Prediction
The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Virginia Tech Hokies will battle things out on Thursday night under the lights. There are few things better than college football under the lights to kick off the fall, and I am fired up for this one.
West Virginia enters this game supporting a record of 1-2 on the young season, while the Hokies come in at 2-1. These teams both went through many changes in the off-season, including two brand new signal callers. The Mountaineers are now led by JT Daniels, who is a transfer from Georgia, while Tech is led by Marshall transfer Grant Wells.
Virginia Tech has played great football in their last two games after kicking off the season with a disappointing loss to Old Dominion. Tech has responded with a pair of wins, including a big one over Boston College at home. West Virginia lost a heartbreaker to Pitt to start the year, and they were beaten up at home by the Kansas Jayhawks. They took out their anger last week when they played Towson, winning the game 65-7. They know that Tech will be a much tougher test than Towson was. Tech is led by former Penn State defensive coordinator Brent Pry. Pry is hoping to turn Virginia Tech back into the powerhouse that they once were.
I am backing Pry and the Hokies tonight as I believe that this is a great spot for them at home. Tech has looked like a different team in the last couple of weeks, and I am very high on them from a defensive standpoint. West Virginia has not impressed me this season, and I think that they will struggle to score points tonight. If Tech can play their style and jump out to an early lead, I like them to win this outright but taking them with the points is a no-brainer to me. Let’s stay hot in college football tonight!
