The Nevada Wolfpack started off the year with two wins against New Mexico State and Texas State and have since gotten blown out by Incarnate Word and Iowa by 14 and 27 points respectively. Their biggest problem has been moving the ball and scoring points on offense as quarterbacks, Nate Cox nor Shane Illingworth have been able to be productive to this point. One thing that has been a strong suit for Nevada to this point is their defense.

Air Force vs. Nevada Prediction

Nevada is currently ranked 20th in the nation in yards allowed per carry as they are currently only allowing 2.8 yards per rush to their opponents. Why is this important? Because they are about to go against Air Force, a triple option team who runs the ball on 90% of plays. On the other side, Air Force is coming off a midweek loss last week to Wyoming where they were 17-point favorites. They were trailing at halftime but then came back to take a second-half lead before relinquishing the game-winning score to Nevada with only a few minutes left.

That was Air Force's first real test of the season as they had played FCS Northern Iowa and Colorado up to that point, who are 2 extremely inferior teams. I do expect Air Force to play better and win this game, but it is not the best matchup for them against a Nevada defense that has done an admirable job of stopping the run this season.

With that being said, I am going to target this specific matchup and I am rolling with AIR FORCE TEAM TOTAL UNDER 35.5 at -120 for 1U. Air Force typically sustains long drives and works a lot of the clock in their games and Nevada should be able to hold their own on the defensive line.

Air Force also struggled to stop the run against Wyoming, and I believe Nevada can have success on the ground with Toa Taua who is probably the best offensive player they have. I am worried about Nevada's inability to score points though so that is why I am rolling with an Air Force TT u35.5 here at -120 for 1U to directly bet on the matchup between Air Force's offense and Nevada's defense.
