Boise State has earned a good reputation for its football program. The Broncos have not had a losing season since 1997. 1997 was the second year of their program. They have done an outstanding job of recruiting and winning, and this year, they feel like they have a roster that can compete. They are led at the QB position by Hank Bachmeier. Hank is a senior that has a ton of talent.

The Broncos will depend on him heavily for their success this season. Boise has been rock solid on the defensive side of the ball in the last two weeks, allowing just twenty-one points over the last eight quarters of play.

I will be backing the Miners with the points tonight. I am buying this up to seventeen and I feel this is just too many points for a home game. UTEP is better than they have played in my eyes and better than their record shows. The other reason I like this spread is I just do not think we will see a lot of points scored. In a game I see being low scoring, I like to take a big dog like UTEP is tonight.

Boise State plays at one of the slowest paces in college football, so their possessions will be limited tonight. I expect UTEP also to play slow, knowing that they need to try and limit the Bronco's offensive touches if they want to pull off the upset. I like the way this game is scripted for the cover.
