North Carolina vs Notre Dame Prediction

The Irish enter play with a disappointing 1-2 record on the young season, and they will look to flip the script on that today with a big road win over the Heels. Notre Dame entered this season ranked in the top ten, but after a hard-fought loss to Ohio State, they got beat at home by Marshall. This loss really put their season in jeopardy, and they will have to get on some kind of roll if they want to be in a big bowl game this season.

The Irish also got tough news concerning their starting QB Tyler Buchner. Buchner will miss the rest of the season for the Irish. The man forced into action is sophomore Drew Pyne. Pyne was solid in the home win over Cal last Saturday for the Irish, but he will have to play a better game today against the Heels if they want to pull off this upset. North Carolina has jumped out to a 3-0 start on the young season.

The Heels are led by freshman QB Drake Maye. Maye has been extremely impressive so far this year for the Heels, and they are confident that he could be the guy they build around for the next few seasons. The Heels have beat Georgia State and App State, but they know that the Irish will win their toughest test of the young season. The Heels enter this one as a 2.5-point favorite. 

I am all over the dog here. I am taking the Irish with the points today. I think that the Irish defense will be ready to go today and limit the Heels here. North Carolina has looked great on offense this year, but they are yet to be tested. Notre Dame is extremely undervalued here due to their poor start, but I still trust that they are the better team today. Lastly, I expect the public to be all over the Heels, and I love to fade that trend today. Let’s go, Irish!
