Clemson vs. North Carolina State Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds

We have a GREAT game tonight on ABC. It's so great that it was where gameday went this morning in Death Valley as we have a battle of ranked teams with # 5 Clemson and #10 North Carolina St meeting in Death Valley.

A lot of people are talking about revenge for Clemson tonight off the tough overtime loss last year where NC State finally beat Clemson but that doesn't matter today. Let's remember that NC St was the real thing before the season and because of their performance to start the year against East Carolina (we had ECU) they have been forgotten. Today we have a great game, and a great teaser option as well, but let's focus on the total here today and see who will come out of this game as the ACC Favorite.

Clemson vs. North Carolina State Prediction

If you asked anyone on either team what their strengths are and both would say defense as we have the 12th (NC St) and 40th (Clemson) ranked defenses going at it today. Now, most of you will look and say these two teams have good offenses but if you delve further into it you would know better. Yes Nc St just scored 41 but it was against UConn you would be embarrassed if you didn't put up 40 on Uconn (41,59,48 last 3), and they scored 55 against a nobody but if you look at their two tough games they scored only 27 and 21 against two average defenses. They are a fake good offense as this team was and is built on defense, especially the line making it hard to run on them (Clemson's strength).

Clemson was supposed to lose nothing when Trevor Lawrence left and DJ came in to replace him at QB. Boy were they wrong. DJ has been far from a stud Qb and yes we can see that Clemson just scored 51 on WF (in OT) but Wake Forest doesn't know how to spell Defense, 48 on Louisiana Tech (Missouri scored 52 on them nothing else needs to be said), 41 on Georgia Tech doesn't impress us as that team can't score a walk-in touchdown. The Tigers have a lot of points and a lot of offense against teams that don't play defense. This is an ACC game for all the marbles and a battle for first place (other than Florida St the winner here should win the ACC conference). Both teams are bringing their A games and for both of those teams that means their defenses. Don't fall for a trap that teams can score because they scored against some teams whose defenses rank 100 or worse. This game is all about the defense tonight and we can tell you that in Death Valley these teams have gone under six of their last seven times.

Don't believe how big a game this is, let's hear the NC St coach. Wolfpack coach Dave Doeren called the matchup the biggest in his 10 seasons with the team."It's two top 10 teams competing on a national stage," Doeren said. "That's why we do this. The kids have worked hard. The staff has worked hard, and we expected to be in this position. We expected to be 4-0 going into Clemson. We look forward to playing a great team." Will the weather affect this game maybe but maybe not but bad weather or not first to 21 should win this game. We are recommending the UNDER 45.5 or 46 -120 if you like even numbers on this Top 10 battle tonight on ABC for your viewing pleasure. Let's hope both offenses die in Death Valley tonight as they both learn the D and the Death is for offenses.
