Tennessee Martin vs. Tennessee Tech Prediction

UT-Martin is a very solid FCS team this season as they come into this game with a 2-2 record, but their only losses are to FBS Boise state where they only allowed 30 points, and to Missouri State who is also a top-ranked FCS team in their own right.

Tennessee Martin has played in a lot of high-scoring games this season as there were 67 points in their matchup against Western Illinois, a bottom-of-the-barrel FCS team, 65 total points against Missouri State which was a shootout, and 82 points against Lindenwood, another very poor FCS team. UT-Martin has been a very solid offensive team to this point as they have put up 577, 429, and 541 yards in their 3 FCS games this season against WIU, Missouri State, and Lindenwood, so their offense has been cooking behind the strong arm of budding star quarterback Dresser Winn.

The issue that UT-Martin has run into is that their defense has really struggled. Western Illinois and Lindenwood are 2 very poor FCS teams, especially offensively, and were able to move the ball with ease on the Skyhawks. UT-Martin gave up 405, 436, and 429 yards in their 3 FCS games so they have struggled to get stops. They will be facing a Tennessee Tech team who is a bottom-tier FCS team but appears to be much improved. TTU's offense came alive in the 4th quarter of their game against TAMU-Commerce a few weeks ago and they followed that up with another solid performance against a very good Samford team.

In the last 5 quarters of football, TTU has scored 48 total points and their offense has been very in rhythm. With that being said, I am rolling with the OVER 51.5 at -102 (WynnBet) for 1.5U in this matchup between UT-Martin and Tennessee Tech. I had this game lined closer to 59/60 on the total so I think we are getting a lot of value with this total barely being above 50. UT-Martin is a good team but now they will be going on the road, and they have already had a lot of defensive struggles.

I am hoping this game ends up being a shootout as their previous matchups have.
