There's no other way to put it...the Georgia Bulldogs escaped disaster, last week. Stetson Bennett and co. traveled to Columbia to face a struggling Missouri squad as 31-point favorites but walked out with a narrow 26-22 victory over the Tigers. It appears as if the Bulldogs play up (or down) to their competition as the team has absolutely throttled their two 'tough' games in the form of a 49-3 drubbing of Oregon on opening day and a 48-7 dismantling of South Carolina on the road a few weeks ago. However, Georgia hasn't even come close to covering their three games against 'lesser' opponents and won by 33, 17, and 4-point margins as 53, 44.5, and 31-point favorites in those games.

Meanwhile, Bryan Harson remains on the hot seat in Auburn, Alabama. The Tigers were shamed for their narrow 3-point win over Mizzou just two weeks ago and maybe that Missouri squad is a little tougher than previously thought after nearly knocking off the number one (now two) team in the nation. Media and fans alike think it's just a matter of when not if, Harson is let go from his duties as head ball coach in Auburn, and perhaps rightfully so as the team has struggled mightily, this season but maybe freshman QB, Robby Ashford is just what the doctor ordered for not only Harson, but for the Tigers, as the Hoover, Alabama-native came just a few plays away from knocking off LSU, last week in his first career start.

Georgia vs. Auburn Prediction

Yes, Georgia is still probably the most well-rounded team in the nation, yes, Georgia will still more than likely win the SEC East, and yes, Georgia will still probably make the CFB Playoff. However, that's not what we're here for. Auburn may have blown a 17-point lead at home against LSU, last week and head coach Bryan Harson is very well on the hot seat, however, their squad undoubtedly looks miles better with freshman QB, Robby Ashford under center over LSU-transfer TJ Finley. Ashford and co. moved the ball decently well against LSU's top-10 ranked defense but ultimately weren't able to put the ball in the end zone when it mattered most. Couple Auburn's new-look offense with Georgia's recent struggles, and Auburn stays within the number, this weekend.
