College Football Week 6 Predictions: Be on the Lookout for Nevada and Bowling Green's Team Totals

Look, I know there are no team totals posted for college football this week. I get that. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be getting ready for release. In my opinion, we should be making a list right now. Just like Santa. It's called being prepared. That way, when the books release their numbers, we are already ready to fire into them. Strike first, strike hard, has always been my motto. Ever since I was a kid. Lucky for us, I've already gone over this week's board. Twice. There's not much but sometimes those are the best weeks. It is still too early to tell. The one thing I do know is when the books finally give us something to bet in the team total market, we'll already be waiting ready to sweep the leg. No mercy people.

Nevada Team Total Over 24 (Friday)

Right now we're looking at 24 for these kids which is kind of a lot but two things come into play here. First off, we need action for Friday and this game is on Friday. Checking boxes here people. On top of that, we've got the old "ex is back in town" situation. It's a fresh one too. Those are my favorite kind. I just love watching kids open their hearts and watch the hate pour out. It's beautiful.

So what happened is Jay Norvell used to coach Nevada. But he decided last December that Nevada wasn't good enough for him and went to Colorado State. Obviously, no one wants to get dumped so you know the Nevada kids that Norvell recruited have been waiting for this one. The thing is, Colorado State stinks. Like bad. They haven't won a game, everyone knows they aren't going to a bowl and they are losing kids to transfer. They just gave up 41 points to Sacramento State last week. I think Nevada will hang some points here. We just need to see a number.

Bowling Green Team Total Over 26 (Saturday)

This one is going off at noon and the mighty Falcons are taking on the Buffalo Bulls. Obviously, we want some noon action and if the number stays where it's at, this might be the bet. We're going to have to wait since the team totals come out closer to kickoff but this one is sitting in a good spot. First off, the line opened at a pick and has moved to Buffalo -2. That's good for us derivative market people since that means we'll get a better team total. Sure we're going "against" the market here but keep in mind, Buffalo could easily cover two points even if Bowling Green scores 26+. That's a scientific fact.

The thing that people don't understand about Bowling Green is their quarterback, Matt McDonald, isn't that bad. The kid has thrown for at least three touchdowns in each of his last three games. Bowling Green as a team has gone over this number three times this season in five tries. The only time they didn't was against UCLA and Mississippi State. McDonald didn't even play against Mississippi State and they dropped 14. I just can't imagine our Bowling Green Falcons not being able to put up at least 26 points at home against a Buffalo team that has allowed everyone they've played on the road this season to accomplish the feat. We'll see what the books give us in this market later this week.
