Marshall vs. Louisiana Odds, Line, and Point Spread: Find Out If Thundering Herd Can Cover As Favorites

The Marshall Thundering Herd will host the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns for what should be an exciting Sun Belt contest. Marshall will be coming into this game at 3-2 on the season and 0-1 in the conference. Louisiana, on the other hand, has had its struggles this season and sits at 2-3 and 0-2 in the Sun Belt. Let's dive into the Marshall vs Louisiana odds and talk about some of the best bets that we can make for this game.

Marshall is a 10.5-point favorite according to the sportsbooks. Although it does seem likely at the moment that Marshall is going to win this game outright, 10.5 points might be a bit too many to give to a team like the Thundering Herd. The Marshall vs Louisiana odds see Marshall coming in as a favorite on the money line at -410 and Louisiana coming in at +330. The over/under a slotted at 46.5.

TeamMoneylineOver/UnderPoint Spread

As we can see, the Marshall vs Louisiana odds favor the Thundering Herd at home. They do have some impressive wins throughout the year, including a win over a nationally-ranked Notre Dame team at the time. The over/under could be in play here as 46.5 isn't necessarily too many points in terms of a college football game.

Marshall Thundering Herd

What the Marshall Thundering Herd have been able to do this season is certainly impressive and they deserve to get some credit for their play so far. The one thing that's been working for Marshall thus far is their run game. One player that we have to watch out for is Khalan Laborn, who's arguably the best back in the nation.

Laborn has been spectacular for the Thundering Herd as he currently has 731 yards on 132 rush attempts with eight touchdowns. He's in the top five in the nation in terms of rushing yards this season, so expect him to continue doing what he's been able to do.

On top of what he's been able to do, their defense has also been playing decent football this season. In terms of points given up, they've only given up more than 26 once in their first few games of the season. If they can replicate what they've been able to do on the defensive side of the football against Louisiana, they should win this game.

Louisiana Ragin Cajuns

Louisiana has had a rough start to the season and it doesn't look like that's going to change anytime soon. They had two wins to start the season against Southeast Louisiana and Eastern Michigan. After those two games, they've now lost to Rice, Louisiana Monroe, and South Alabama.

It's not going to get any easier for them as we can make an argument that Marshall might be the best team that they've played this season.

The one thing to look out for here with Louisiana is if they're going to be able to do anything on the offensive side of the football.

Ben Wooldridge is going to be coming into this game with only 440 passing yards and has thrown just three touchdowns this season. It's reported that he's going to get extended minutes in this game as he's been sharing snaps for a portion of the season. Could it be a good thing for Louisiana that he's going to get more snaps? Maybe. However, there's also a possibility that it won't be a good thing.

Marshall vs. Louisiana Betting Pick

With the uncertainty around Ben Wooldridge getting all of the snaps for Louisiana in this game, the best bet is going to be buying a point for Marshall and taking them at -9.5 at -125 odds.

The Marshall vs Louisiana odds are interesting and although Marshall has the ability to cover the 10.5-point spread, let's be smart and take them with just 9.5 points as they can cover for us by winning by a touchdown and a field goal.
