Marshall is a team who stormed out of the gates with a blowout win over FCS Norfolk State and then shocked the world with an upset victory over Notre Dame in South Bend as nearly 17-point favorites. Since that game, they have really struggled however as they have gone 0-3 ATS since then including straight-up losses to Bowling Green and Troy.

Marshall vs. Louisiana Prediction

Marshall has really struggled on both ends as well as they gave up 34 points to a very weak Bowling Green offense and then were only able to score 7 points against Troy in a game where Troy out-gained them in yards by a tally of 421 to 174. Marshall’s offense will have their work cut out for them again tonight against a very solid Louisiana Lafayette defense. ULL is a perennial group of 5 powerhouses but they lost their head coach to Florida and lost their longtime quarterback Levi Lewis so they have had to find a new identity this season. ULL comes into this game with a 2-3 record and has currently lost 3 in a row but has been playing very close games.

Their last game was against South Alabama who is the presumed Sun Belt champs and played them very tough as the game was tied late in the 4th quarter before South Alabama sealed the game on a last-second field goal. ULL has played very solid defense all season as they have allowed 21 points or less in 4 of 5 games this season. I do not expect Marshall to be able to move the ball up and down the field on this ULL defense and this line seems a bit inflated given how bad Marshall has been playing lately.

With that being said, I am rolling with Louisiana Lafayette +10.5 at -107 for 1U as my most confident College Football Play of the Day.
