UCF vs. Temple Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds
Temple comes into this game with a record of 2-3 but their wins have come over Lafayette (A very bad FCS team) and Umass (a 1-5 record and one of the worst FBS teams). Temple has had a lot of issues moving the ball and made a quarterback change to EJ Warner halfway through their second game which seemed to help them a bit.
EJ Warner has been a significant upgrade from D'wan Mathis but even so, they have still had a lot of trouble putting the ball in the end zone. In their 3 losses this season, Temple has scored a total of 2 TDs which both came against Rutgers in a low scoring 16-14 defeat. They were unable to score a single point against Duke in a 30-0 loss and only mustered 3 points 2 weeks ago as they lost to Memphis 24-3.

UCF vs. Temple Prediction
While Temple has really struggled to score, their defense has done a phenomenal job of keeping them in the game this season. Temple is currently ranked 16th in the nation in total defense as they are only allowing 324 yards per game this season. They are also ranked 12th in yards allowed per play which combines their effectiveness against the run and the pass so overall they have been an exceptional defensive team.
They have their work cut out for them against a strong UCF squad, but UCF is not nearly as strong or as crisp on offense as they have been in years past. UCF still plays at a very fast tempo but has been plagued by turnovers or 4th down conversions. They were only able to score 14 points against Louisville and in a very similar spot to this temple game, were only able to score 27 against an abysmal Georgia Tech team.
In those games, UCF turned the ball over 3 times and went a combined 9-32 on third downs so they have had a lot of trouble converting on the money down and turning their yards into points. The thing with UCF is that they also have an exceptional red zone and 3rd down defense.
They have stifled many teams deep in their own end and do a great job of getting off the field on 3rd downs. So, with that being said, I am rolling with the UNDER 46 at -105 for 1U as one of my most confident College Football Plays of the Day as I think this is a very low-scoring game between 2 exceptional defenses.
