SMU has had to play a brutal schedule for the last three games. They lost to TCU, Maryland, and UCF. Now they are finally home and looking to turn their season around. Tanner Mordecai has been the main point of this offense all season. He has 1600+ yards and 12 touchdowns in five games. He has shown that NFL arm that people have said he has.

This SMU offense has the potential to be very good and they have athletes all over the place. It's about putting drives together and finishing them. Mordecai at times this year has really hurt his team with red zone interceptions. One thing though is this team is very good at home. They are averaging close to 34ppg on the season. This Navy team on the other side of the ball is very young. They're in their second year of the rebuilding stage. They actually haven't been playing bad football of late. But their pass defense on the defensive side of the ball has been really bad. I really expect Mordecai to expose this pass defense all game long.

SMU has skilled players all over the place and they were predicted to finish top three in the American Conference. They have had a very disappointing season to start the year. But they know it's easy to turn around. Now they are in the bulk of their American Conference schedule.

Navy has shown to be very vulnerable against high pace offenses and teams that love to pass the ball. SMU is going to give this Navy defense fits all game long. I really can't see this Navy defense stopping SMU at all. SMU has all the weapons in the world to really score against this young Navy defense. Mordecai has a great arm and has some talent on the outside at the receiver position like Velton Gardner who has 37 catches and 230 yards on the season. This SMU team can really put up points fast with their up-tempo offense also.

When I did my research on this game it's always been a very high-scoring contest between the two. Both of these teams score the ball and really haven't brought any strong defenses into the matchups. But in reality, I really feel this SMU offense is going to have a breakthrough performance tonight in front of their home crowd.
