Oklahoma State vs. Texas Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Quinn Ewers and Texas Pull Off the Road Win?

The Texas Longhorns have won four straight games since losing to Texas Tech in overtime. Now they'll look for their first Top-25 win of the season in a road game against Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State is coming off its first loss against 13-ranked TCU. But the Cowboys have wins over Baylor and Texas Tech earlier this season.

Texas has been a much different team with Quinn Ewers at quarterback. Can Ewers and the Longhorns pull off the road win?

Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Texas Longhorns Prediction

The Texas Longhorns might be undefeated if Quinn Ewers wasn't injured against Alabama. The Longhorns are 3-0 in games Ewers started in and finished in.

Texas lost to Alabama, 20-19 when Ewers started but got hurt. They also took a 37-34 loss to Texas Tech in overtime when Ewers was still recovering.

Ewers didn't look terrific against Iowa State. But he found a way against an adamant defense and helped Texas earn a win.

Ewers has thrown for 820 yards. His QBR is 87.5, and he's thrown nine touchdowns to just two interceptions this year. The Longhorns also have a star running back in Bijan Robinson, who has averaged 5.7 yards per carry with ten touchdowns on 138 attempts.

Texas does a great job feeding Robinson. He's the heart and soul of Texas.

Meanwhile, the defense has also played very well for Texas. They've held teams to 118.7 yards per game on the ground and have only given up 228.7 yards in the air. The Longhorns' positional groups have all played exceptionally well to begin the year.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma State will want to put last week behind themselves. There's no better quarterback to help with this than Spencer Sanders, a veteran quarterback with 13 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Pass protection hasn't been perfect, but the Cowboys' offensive line has done the job. Dominic Richardson has rushed for 427 yards on 108 carries. That's only four yards per carry. That's an area where Oklahoma State could end up struggling.

Defensively, the Cowboys have played well. However, the Cowboys have given up 437.3 yards per game, including over 300 yards in the air.

The main issue is tackling for Oklahoma State. They're not wrapping up guys on their first try. Those averages on defense will eventually go down, but it's not going to get any easier defensively going up against Ewers.

Ewers can throw for 300 yards, despite not having his best game against Iowa State last week.

Therefore, give me Texas against the spread.
