Virginia vs Miami Prediction
Miami has really struggled this season when favored. They are coming off an embarrassing loss to Duke as double-digit favorites and earlier in the season, lost to Middle Tennessee State at home as 26-point favorites.
Miami comes into this game with a record of 3-4 and really have yet to beat any notable opponent but lucky them, their opponent today hasn’t either.
The Hurricanes travel to Virginia to take on the 3-4 Cavaliers and Virginia simply has not played well all season. Their only wins on the season have come against FCS Richmond, ODU (by two as 8.5 favs), and Georgia Tech last week in a very ugly game they likely would have lost if not for Jeff Sims exiting early and forcing them to go to the backup QB.
Virginia is a very sloppy team who turns the ball over a lot and commits a lot of penalties. In their last game against Georgia Tech, they threw a pick 6 in the first quarter and turned the ball over four times in the game. They are also extremely inconsistent in opposing teams’ territory and have a very inconsistent kicker.
Virginia ran nearly 30 plays in a single half last week inside of GT’s territory and was only able to come away with three points. I fully expect Miami to take advantage of these mistakes today and grab a much-needed road win. With that being said, I am rolling with MIAMI ML at -122 for 1.5u as one of my most confident College Football Picks on the early slate.
