Western Michigan comes into this game with a record of three and five and has been disappointing this season. While their record is only 3-5, they have played a relatively tough schedule to this point. Western Michigan has faced off against Michigan State, Pittsburgh, and San Jose State. Even though Western Michigan went 0-3 in those games, their defense held up very well, and they were actually in the game against Michigan State for a period of time before Michigan State would eventually put the game away in the fourth quarter and second half.
