Cincy has been the class of the American Athletic, but they find themselves on the outside looking in this year. The Bearcats currently sit in third place in the conference with a record of 4-1. Their sole loss came to the UCF Knights, who beat them 25-21. Cincinnati has arguably been the best team in college football over the last five years that is not a power conference school.

The Bearcats earned a playoff spot last year, but they were beaten badly by the Alabama Crimson Tide. This obviously will not be a playoff team, but this is a team that still has hopes to play for a conference title and should earn themselves a pretty good bowl game. They will have a chance to face the top team in the conference this year in Tulane at home on November 25th. They will need a home win tonight to make that game matter.

Eastern Carolina enters play representing a record 6-3 overall. They are 3-2 in the conference, which earns them a fifth place at the moment. The Pirate's last game came on October 28th when they beat the BYU Cougars on the road. They enter play, having won three straight games. This is an experienced team that will be no pushover tonight. 

I am backing the Bearcats in this spot tonight. Cincinnati is not the same team we have seen in years past, but this line is too low at home. This number has continued to get bet down due to the public being on Eastern Carolina and at 4.5, I can not pass this up. I trust that the Bearcat's defense will be the X factor tonight. I think they force a couple of turnovers and control field position in this game. I will trust the home team to continue our win streak tonight!
