Arkansas takes on Ole Miss tonight with KJ Jefferson back in the lineup after missing last week's game. Can Arkansas bounce back? Ben Rajavuori breaks it down.
ANALYSIS

Arkansas vs. Ole Miss Prediction, Pick: Can KJ Jefferson and Arkansas Bounce Back

The two SEC teams coming off tough losses meet in Fayetteville tonight. Ole Miss was still fighting for the SEC West last week when they met Alabama and fought hard, but ultimately fell 30-24. The loss removed Ole Miss from contention for the SEC title.

Arkansas vs. Ole Miss Prediction

Meanwhile, Arkansas had a home meeting against LSU in which they also fought hard but ultimately fell 10-13. Arkansas nearly won without starting quarterback KJ Jefferson, but the offense could not muster enough at the end to pull it out. Now, the odds are nearly even with Arkansas hosting Mississippi, as the home team is a +110 underdog. Which team can bounce back and win this week?

Ole Miss has been in the rankings pretty much all season, and up until last week, it looked like they had a real shot at winning the SEC. Despite losing to Alabama last week, they had a good game and actually looked pretty impressive against a top team. Kiffin has one of the strongest rushing groups in the nation, ranking 14th in rushing success and 20th in line yards gained. What has held Ole Miss back at times, though, is USC transfer, Jaxson Dart. Dart has been sufficient in the passing game, but he has missed big throws in key situations and has also missed open throws at times.

Arkansas has had many ups and downs this season, which have mostly revolved around the health of starting quarterback KJ Jefferson. Jefferson's absence was missed most last week when the backups managed just ten points in the close loss. Malik Hornsby and Cade Fortin have been less than stellar, and Arkansas fans will be ecstatic to see Jefferson back on the field.

Jefferson has 1,981 yards on the season with 17 touchdowns and only three interceptions. Jefferson is a dual threat who can burn you on the ground as much as he can through the air. He is an athletic runner who will take advantage of a broken-down pocket. The Razorbacks rank 24th in rush success and 35th in line yards, while the Rebels defense ranks 88th and 80th on defense in those respective categories.

The Razorbacks need this game to get to bowl eligibility. They are coming off a tough home game without their starting quarterback, who is expected to return this week. The defense is playing the best they have all season. They are also getting back their starting tackle Dalton Wagner and defensive back, Myles Slusher. Sam Pittman is 13-6 ATS as an underdog and is 9-3 ATS against top-20 teams.

I think Ole Miss may come out a little flat off the emotional defeat against Alabama last week that knocked them out of SEC contention and especially playoff contention. This is a perfect spot to back a hungry Arkansas team that needs a win and will have a loud crowd backing them with their starting quarterback back under center.
