BetAmerica's Most Backed Team To Win Super Bowl LIV
Recently we spoke with BetAmerica Analyst Scott, about who BetAmerica’s biggest liability were in their Super Bowl LIV Futures market. Following that, we asked who he perceived to hold value as outsiders to win this season’s Lombardi Trophy, as well as who he'll be putting his own money on. This is what he had to say:
Who are bettors backing to lift the Lombardi next February? Which team winning would be the worst outcome for BetAmerica in terms of liability?
We have taken the largest percentage of total wagers in the outright market on the Cleveland Browns, but the liability is not too bad given the +1400 price.
The Atlanta Falcons would be the worst outcome at the moment for BetAmerica. They are sitting at +3200.
Are there any of the outsider teams that offer value with their price? Or are receiving a large chunk of bets?
Obviously, teams that are +2400 or less appear likeliest to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy next February, but there are a few teams that offer a bit value at their current price on BetAmerica.
The Minnesota Vikings underperformed in Kirk Cousins first year with the team, but with a year under his belt in the “Twin Cities” and a top tier defense, Mike Zimmer’s squad could get back to where they were two years ago in a wide-open NFC North. +2800 seems more than fair.
One “outsider” team that we are currently exposed on in terms of BetAmerica liability is the Atlanta Falcons currently sitting at +3200 to win the Super Bowl.
The San Francisco 49ers lost all chance at contending for a playoff position last season when quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL in late September against the Chiefs. They added some serious talent on the defensive end, have a plethora of playmakers, and have one of the best offensive minds in the game in head coach Kyle Shanahan. It is a reach, but at +3500 they could be worth a flier.
We spoke to Nate Burleson last month and asked him who he’d bet $50 on to the win the Super Bowl. He said he’d have to back the Patriots and Tom Brady. Do you think Nate has picked well and who would you bet $50 of your hard earned money on?
I do not like this pick because I just do not like the price of +700 on BetAmerica.
It is impossible to trash a Bill Belichick coached team, but the loss of tight end Rob Gronkowski cannot be understated. New England put it altogether in the playoffs last season and won the Super Bowl, but remember they were not their normal dominant selves during most of the year. They will need a few guys to really step it up on offense to make it back-to-back titles.
I would wager my hard earned $50 on the Philadelphia Eagles at +1500. Carson Wentz appears fully recovered and he has a ton of weapons at his disposal. The addition of deep threat DeSean Jackson should open things up for their highly talented receiving corps led by tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert, and wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. The Eagles defense was extremely banged up last year and they still were a play or two away from getting back to the NFC Championship game. I am expecting big things from Philly this year and think there is tremendous value at their current price.
