Preview and Picks for the Lions @ Packers on Monday Night Football
ANALYSIS

The NFL's offering of Monday Night Football this week is a real blockbuster. The Detroit Lions have been the surprise team of 2019 so far and now they head to Green Bay off the back of their bye week. The NFC North is fast developing into the best division in football this season and this could be a fantastic game to set the division up for the rest of the season.

Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers

Lambeau Field, 8:15pm ET Monday October 14th, 2019

1u – Detroit Lions +4 @ -110

- Per Statschecker, the Detroit Lions are 3-0 ATS and 2-1 SU as underdogs this season

- Per Statschecker, the Green Bay Packers are 1-5-1 ATS in the last two seasons (1-1 this year)

This game is incredibly tough to call. Both teams have been superb straight up and against the spread this season. If we were talking about a game where both teams were coming off a normal week then I would be all over the Packers here. However, with the Lions coming off their bye they should be able to come into this game fresh and full of plans. The key to this game will be between the Lions defensive line and the Packers offensive line. The Lions are super talented up front and they should get enough pressure on Rodgers, as well as restricting Aaron Jones, to keep this close, or potentially come out with the win.

1u – Over 45 Total Points @ -110

- Per Statschecker, the over is 3-1 in Detroit Lions games this season

- The over is 3-0 in the last three Green Bay Packers games

Both of these teams have had a low of points in their games recently. The Packers have not seen a game stay under 50 in the last two weeks. Additionally, the Lions have had just one game this season with less than 50 points scored, Week 2 hosting the Chargers. Both defenses can be attacked in various ways, and both offenses have plenty of weapons with which to be able to move the ball. This game has the feel of a 27-24 or 30-27 type game.
