Another entertaining divisional Thursday Night Football game in the NFL. This one does not have quite the winner-takes-all type feel that last week had, but this is an elimination game for the Cleveland Browns. Win this week and they have an outside chance at 4-6 of competing for a wildcard spot. However, a loss to the 5-4 Pittsburgh Steelers would see the Browns slip three games behind their rivals and leave them needing to win out to stand any real chance of going to the post season.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns
FirstEnergy Stadium, 8:20pm ET Thursday November 14th, 2019
1u – Pittsburgh Steelers +3 @ -110
This game is one of those where you just want the points. You might lose by half a point, but for 57 or so minutes you will feel much happier having those points on your side. The Steelers are the better team in terms of expected points added on both offense and defense. They also have the better coach, the better offensive line, and a defense which can make a case to be top-five right now. Give me Mike Tomlin on a short week over Freddie Kitchens any day.
1u – Under 40 Total Points @ -110
- Per statschecker, the under is 6-3 in Steelers games
- These two teams scored a combined 36 points last week and allowed a combined 28 points
This has all the makings of a grind it out ugly game of football. Neither offense appears to be all that special, and both defenses are playing above average. The biggest risk here is a couple of defensive touchdowns, but then again, we saw two of those in the Steelers game in Week 10 and there was still only 29 points in that game. There has been snow in Cleveland this week and there is the chance of some more as the week goes on, which could limit scoring if we see snow showers on game day.
