Giants vs. Eagles Predictions, Picks & Statistics

After some superb Monday Night Football contests the NFL has brought us back down to earth with a matchup between the 2-10 New York Giants and the 5-7 Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia. The Giants are committed towards rebuilding for the future, but the Eagles were supposed to be good this year. They are the Cowboys were supposed to be slogging it out for first place in the NFC East, not fighting their hardest to be so bad that the winner of the division is 7-9! There is one very redeeming feature of Monday’s game; we get to see Eli Manning in his quest to not drop below .500 for his career.

• The New York Giants has lost by more than 10 points on six occasions this season

This game should be an easy call. It should just be a case of betting against the New York Giants. However, the Eagles are also 4-8 ATS this season and 2-4 ATS at home which complicates matters. However, with Eli Manning commanding the Giants offense, and the Giants defense essentially being a swing gate for opponents to score on I am going to put a unit on the Eagles in this one.

1u – Philadelphia Eagles Over 26.5 Points @ -110

• The New York Giants have allowed over 26 points on 10 occasions this season
• The Eagles offense has demonstrated the ability to put up points when facing struggling defenses

If the Eagles cannot get to 27 points in this one, then we need to start considering letting a third wildcard team take their playoff spot if they win this division. The Giants defense is as bad as it gets and has proven to be a get right game for plenty of offenses this season. Carson Wentz and his offense need to use this game to silence the doubters. The only slight concern here is that the wet weather in this one may hamper the offenses, so this might be a play to hold on until the last couple of hours on Monday to make.
