NFL expert Ben Rolfe breaks down Week 5's matchup between the Chiefs and Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs

  • The Chiefs have yet to allow an opponent to score over 20 points this season
  • The Raiders offense has struggled in the last two games, averaging 21.5 points

The Chiefs defense has been surprisingly strong this season, allowing 20 points exactly in the first three week, and just 10 to the New England Patriots in Week 4. Equally the Raiders have been struggling with injuries on their offense, especially along their offensive line.

The one place the Chiefs do struggle is in the ground game, ranking second worst in yards per attempt. However, when you are facing the Chiefs, it can often become a case that the run game becomes largely irrelevant in the second half. In that instance, the Chiefs rank in the top five in many passing categories.

As a kicker, the Raiders are converting less than 60% of their red-zone opportunities into touchdowns, severely limiting their upside to score over 20 points. With the Chiefs offense looking good at all three levels, and the Raiders limited on offense it would be a surprise if this game ends up being a shootout.
