NFL expert Sam Farley breaks down Sunday's Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos game
ANALYSIS

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos Predictions

  • The Chiefs have won their last 9 road games against the Broncos

The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-1 this season but it still feels like they haven't quite got going, and they certainly aren't playing at the levels which they achieved last season. The Broncos on the other hand aren't playing well, they're knocked up and struggling for consistency.

The Chiefs won by 9 points on Monday against Buffalo, and while their defense isn't as good as we thought it would be pre-season, it's still better than the Broncos. Put simply, the Broncos won't be able to stop this KC offense, so I simply have to take the Chiefs -9.0, it's good to turn down.

The key to winning that bet isn't the Chiefs though, it's the sheer impotence of the Denver offense, they've been awful recently, and although Drew Lock is back on the field, he doesn't look right and isn't at full fitness yet.

Denver beat the Patriots with the help of Brendan McManus leg but those 3-point attempts won't be good enough when you've got Patrick Mahomes taking the ball the length of the field against you, not a Covid-19 ravaged Cam Newton.

One thing to remember is that run defense is the one redeeming feature of this Broncos team, so despite Clyde Edwards-Helaire having a huge game on Monday, and the arrival of Le'Veon Bell, it's key to stay away from rushing props. It's worth keeping an eye out on Travis Kelce's anytime TD odds when the market comes out though.

Besides a game against the New York Jets, we haven't seen the Broncos offense cooking. With that in mind we're also going to take the under, despite it being a very low 45.5, to go alongside the Chiefs -9.
