NFL expert Sam Farley breaks down Sunday's New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills game

New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills Predictions

  • The Bills are 3 wins clear of the Patriots in the AFC East standings

Last Sunday's 33-6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers was one of the lowest points in recent Patriots history. This acclaimed franchise looked woeful and indept, with Cam Newton stumbling to a benching before he was replaced by the equally poor Jarrett Stidham.

Bill Belichick has already said that Cam Newton will remain his starter and from listening to Cam's words following the match he seems fired up and ready to prove himself. There's a school of thought that Cam Newton hasn't fully recovered physically after contracting Covid-19 but I'm not sure I buy that. There aren't many QB's I back more than Cam Newton when he's hungry and looking for revenge.

On the otherside of the field it looks like Josh Allen is starting to look human. After being firmly in the MVP conversation at the start of the season his performances have dropped slightly. He's still playing very well but there are some flaws to his game. There is nobody in football with more ability to take advantage of those flaws than Bill Belichick and I believe that he'll have that defense working hard to put Josh Allen under real pressure.

The simple question you need to ask yourself when deciding which way to bet is whether you think Bill Belichick will tolerate another humbling loss. I don't believe he can, it's not in his make-up. The Bills have shown weaknesses recently, even struggling to dominate the New York Jets last week and I believe that Belichick will be able to ensure that his defense keep this within the 3.5 points that the Patriots have been given by the books.
