Ben Rolfe looks to continue his hot-form and provides his picks for the Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers on Sunday
ANALYSIS

Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers Predictions

  • Per statschecker, the Packers are 5-1 against the spread this season, including 2-0 at home
  • The Packers manhandled the Vikings in a 43-34 victory in Minnesota earlier this season.

This game screams the Packers in a variety of ways. When it comes to beating up on bad defenses, the Packers have been doing it all season, putting up more than 30 points against the Vikings, Lions, Saints, Falcons and Texans. They get a re-match with the Vikings this week, who have no one that can challenge Davante Adams, as well as having just traded away Yannick Ngakoue and putting Danielle Hunter on IR to significantly hamper their pass rush.

Sure the Vikings are coming off the bye, but the Packers barely had to try in the second half last week against Houston, so they should be fresh as well. The Vikings will need to try and control this game with their own run game, likely led by Dalvin Cook. While the Packers are vulnerable to the ground game, their ability to march down the field should ensure they have too much for the Vikings offensively.

Take this game against the spread, but also look to use it in a teaser to take the line down to -1. Even if the Packers do not end up covering seven points, it is very unlikely they lose this one.

In terms of the total, I would not look to play it straight up. These two teams combined for over 70 points in Week 1, but 54 points is a lot. If I was going to do anything here, I would look to tease that down to 48 and take the over. If you want to a take a total straight up, the Packers over 30.5 at -103 is the best you will find. This Vikings defense should not be able to stress the Packers offense much this week.
