NFL expert Sam Farley breaks down Sunday's Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos game

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos Predictions

  • The Broncos have covered the spread in their last 4 games following a home loss

The Chargers love being in close games. They've been within one score either way for all but one game this season, which was a 10 point victory over the Jaguars last week. Denver on the other hand, despite losing to the Chiefs last time out, feel like a team slowly getting their stuff together.

Drew Lock is getting himself back to full fitness following his injury and he should be able to put some big yardage on the Chargers today, with the LA team giving up an average of 266 passing yards per game, 20 more yards then the Broncos have given up so far. The loss of Von Miller before the season was big but Bradley Chubb has performed well despite missing his partner in crime and the Broncos pass rush has been effective.

Denver's defense has the 8th best record in terms of yards allowed to offenses per game, better than some more acclaimed defenses like Baltimore and Chicago.

There's been so much hype for the Chargers because of the brilliant performances of their first round pick, Justin Herbert, but beyond the QB have they really excelled? I'm not totally sold on their offense and I don't believe that their defense has performed at the level that you'd have expected either. The Broncos have had a mixed season so far but the smart bet here is on Denver covering.
