- 7 of the Chargers last 8 road games have been over the total points line.
The Chargers trip to Miami is, on paper at least, arguably the most interesting game of the entire slate this weekend. All eyes will be on this matchup between Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa, the first of what is likely to be many through the years.
Both of the rookie quarterbacks have looked impressive so far, with Herbert the front runner for Offensive Rookie Of The Year and Tua coming into this game off the back of a huge performance against the Cardinals in week 9.
Calling a winner is tough. I'm leaning toward the Dolphins, I think that they're better coached and they really are a proper team, better together than as the sum of their pieces. I'm not confident enough to be putting my money on Miami though so we'll need to look elsewhere.
The total points line leaps out here. 48.5 feels very doable. Miami have put up 62 points across the past two games since Tua became a starter. The Chargers have managed 56 in that time frame too. Given that they've come into this game after such high scoring affairs I'm surprised the line is this low. I think both teams do have the potential to turn up on defense, which would damage our chances, but I'm happy to take that chance and back the over here.
