Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants Predictions

After beating the NY Giants & Dallas Cowboys, the 3-4-1 Philadelphia Eagles were on bye last week. A bye that saw the return of Alshon Jeffery, Miles Sanders, & possibly Isaac Seumalo to a depleted offensive line.

The New York Giants enter the week coming off their 2nd win of the season. After getting out to a 20-3 lead, the Giants held off a 2nd half comeback by the Washington Redskins for the win. A win that saw the Giants cause four turnovers.

With wins over the NY Giants & Dallas Cowboys before the bye, the Eagles now can take full control of the NFC East. If the Eagles beat the Giants, the Eagles will have a 3-game lead in the NFC East. A lead that would be hard to give up with the Eagles needing just 2-wins over the final 7-weeks to win the NFC East for the 2nd year in a row.

Even with the return of Jalen Reagor & Dallas Goedert vs the Cowboys, Travis Fulgham was still Carson Wentz’s #1 target. Adding another 78-yards on 6-receptions & a TD to his breakout campaign over the past 5 weeks. This week the Eagles get another healthy wide-receiver back. Alshon Jeffery is expected to make his season debut & some say Jeffery is in the best shape of his career. After throwing to now star Travis Fulgham, Greg Ward, & John Hightower just 4-weeks ago, Carson Wentz has the most weapons available to throw to since his MVP start in 2017.

The Giants, who gave up 325 yards passing yards to Alex Smith in just 3-quarters, will look to stop the now full healthy Eagles wide-receiver core. With a new looking offensive line, the Giants look to hold back an Eagles defensive line that sacked Daniel Jones 3-times in their first meeting this season. A line that gave up 5-sacks to Washington last week.

As the Eagles head coach, Doug Pederson is 8-1 against the Giants. Including winning the last eight against New York. Pederson’s Eagles have scored 22+ points in every game vs the Giants. (27-point average) In all 9-games, Carson Wentz has completed a pass of 30+ yards.

With the Eagles the healthiest they have been since probably their Super Bowl run in 2017 & coming off a bye, the Eagles should roll against a Giants team that barely held on against Washington last week. With a big day possibly instore for Carson Wentz.
