NFL Week 12 Picks: Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets Predictions
Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets Predictions
- The Jets are 3-7 ATS this season, tied for the 2nd worst mark in the NFL
I’m not going to take too long thinking about this one. With the spread sitting at less than a touchdown, I think the Dolphins are a no-brainer on Sunday.
New York is not just the NFL’s worst team, it’s also one of the worst teams in the league against the spread. In their 10 games this season, the Jets have covered just three times.
Meanwhile, Miami has been one of the better stories in the NFL, exceeding expectations on the field and in the betting scene. Miami’s 7-3 mark against the spread is tied for the 2nd best record in the league.
The Dolphins are coming off perhaps their most disappointing game of the 2020 season, a seven-point loss to a below-average Broncos team. After starting his career 3-0, Tua Tagovailoa was benched for backup Ryan Fitzpatrick in the loss.
Having said all that, I still think they easily handle the Jets. New York is still winless in 2020, and the Dolphins defeated the Jets, 24-0, when the two teams met earlier this year.
We still don’t know who will be playing quarterback for New York. Sam Darnold has missed time with a shoulder injury and was replaced by backup Joe Flacco, but I don’t even think that matters much. The Jets have shown, no matter who is under center, that they’re the absolute worst the league has to offer.
The Jets’s losses have come by an average of 15.3 points per game this season, and I expect the Dolphins to win by at least 10 on Sunday. Look for Tua to rebound from his first bad game as a pro and get the Dolphins back in the right direction.
