NFL Week 12 Picks: San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams Predictions
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams Predictions
- These teams have combined for 481 points between them this season in 20 games.
The Rams are 6.5-point favorites as they welcome the 49ers to Los Angeles. The Rams have impressed recently, beating Tom Brady's Buccaneers last week, and their divisional rival, the Seahawks, a week earlier.
They come into this game in great form and I'd lean toward backing them to cover but it's worth remembering that they lost 24-16 to the Niners earlier this season. Anything can happen in a divisional game, especially when the two head coaches are also two of the league's sharpest minds, which leads me to avoid backing either team to win.
The total points line is currently set at 46.5 with the odds shortening on the under, so we could potentially see that line move before Sunday. It's no surprise given the performances of the Rams defense, and in particular Aaron Donald, who is gunning to win another Defensive Player Of The Year award.
If the majority of the money is backing the under, then perhaps it's time to zig when others zag, and take the over. 46.5 points is a modest total for two teams who have such dynamic playmakers. Cooper Kupp is, at least according to Devante Adams, the most underrated reciever in the league, and alongside Robert Woods he's a real threat.
The Niners too will likely have their own pair of dynamic recievers, come all-round playmakers, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk on the field, assuming the rookie gets a clear Covid-19 test before Sunday. Those two offer a threat that not many other players in the league can offer and Kyle Shanahan is one of the best at using their unique skillsets.
For all the talk of the defensive ability of these teams I think we need to have a serious look at the talent on the offensive side of the ball and I can comfortably see these two teams getting 20+ points with some ease.

Week 12 is finally upon us. As is tradition we have 3 Thanksgiving games, the highlight of which is the third and final game, which sees the Ravens facing the unbeaten Steelers. On Sunday Night Football we see football's oldest rivalry as the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers meet and on Monday we see the Seahawks at the Eagles. The biggest game of the week for neutrals is probably the Chiefs at Buccaneers, which will pit Tom Brady against Patrick Mahomes.
