NFL Week 12 Picks: Cleveland Browns vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Predictions
Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars Predictions
- The Browns have the 3rd pest rushing attack in the NFL
- Jacksonville's rush defense ranks 24th in the league
Earlier this week, I gave this game out as part of my Week 12 NFL Parlay. At that point, Cleveland was a 6-point favorite. Since then, it’s moved to a 7-point spread and I still love the Browns to put a beating on the Jaguars.
The Jags have been awful all season long, especially without Gardner Minshew in the lineup. They’ve lost nine straight games after a Week 1 win over the Colts and are coming off a 27-3 defeat at the hands of the Steelers in Week 11.
The Browns sit at 7-3 after beating the Eagles last week, and the strength of their team matches up perfectly with a bad Jacksonville rush defense.
Cleveland is the third best rushing team in the NFL. The Browns average 156.8 yards per game on the ground, and the Nick Chubb-Kareem Hunt backfield duo may be the most explosive in the entire NFL. Cleveland has relied heavily on the running game this year, and that will continue this week.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville has struggled mightily to stop opponents from running on them. The Jags have allowed an average of 129.1 rushing yard per game, good for 24th in the NFL.
When Cleveland isn’t running the ball down the throat of the Jacksonville defense, it’ll be up to Baker Mayfield to pick apart an injured Jags secondary.
Cornerback Sidney Jones is expected to miss the game with an Achilles injury, and C.J. Henderson, D.J. Hayden, and Chris Claybrooks are all already on the IR. That means Luq Barcoo and Josiah Scott, both of whom are rookies, will likely start on the outside for the Jags.
If that wasn’t enough, Mike Glennon is scheduled to start at quarterback for Jacksonville. I will take any opportunity to bet against Glennon. He’s shown us time after time he’s not a starting quarterback in the NFL, and I expect a solid Browns team to give him fits.
I will gladly lay the seven points for the Browns to demolish an injured Jacksonville team that can’t stop the run and is starting one of the worst quarterbacks the league has to offer on Sunday.

Week 12 is finally upon us. As is tradition we have 3 Thanksgiving games, the highlight of which is the third and final game, which sees the Ravens facing the unbeaten Steelers. On Sunday Night Football we see football's oldest rivalry as the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers meet and on Monday we see the Seahawks at the Eagles. The biggest game of the week for neutrals is probably the Chiefs at Buccaneers, which will pit Tom Brady against Patrick Mahomes.
