Spread: SEA -6.5
The Philadelphia Eagles, 3-6-1, enter the week coming off an ugly 22-17 loss against the Cleveland Browns. A loss that owner Jeffrey Lurie did not watch in person due to disgust & frustration with his team’s performance this season.
The Seattle Seahawks, 7-3, enter the week coming off their 7th win of the season. After losing to divisional rival, LA Rams, the week prior, the Seahawks bounced back with a win over divisional foe, Arizona Cardinals, to regain a tie of 1st place in the NFC West.
Doug Pederson’s record after the bye continues to be his downfall. Pederson is now 1-4 in both the week after the bye and the week following thereafter. One of Doug Pederson’s major problems as head coach is his inability to prepare for games. Something that will need to change against Seattle, a team Doug is 0-4 against.
Russel Wilson looks to improve to 6-0 against Philadelphia. In 5-career games, Wilson has 8-TD & 1-INT with an average of 257-passing-yards & 31-rushing-yards.
Philadelphia will look to rebound after scoring only 17-points in each of the last two weeks against the 15th & 17th ranked defenses. But, Philadelphia must stop the 5th ranked Seahawks offense, who are averaging over 400+ yards a game.
Seattle will focus on its pass heavy offense. Since Chris Carson’s injury in week7, Seattle has yet to have a runner reach 80-yards in a game. But, Seattle must limit the Eagles pass heavy offense against a Seahawks defense giving up a league worst 343-yards throw the air a game.
This game has the chance to be a very high scoring game. With two pass heavy offenses, the defense that is able to make the key stop will win this game. Something the Eagles must do to keep their NFC East title & playoff hopes alive.
