- The Giants have covered the spread in their last 10 road games against NFC opponents
The Giants travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks and Daniel Jones won't be under center following his hamstring injury last week. Colt McCoy instead will be quarterbacking the Giants when they face an NFC rival.
Both sides have positive records against the spread this season, although at 7-4, the Giants are 1 better. The Giants are an interesting side, and their defense, which has been much maligned, is actually significantly better than many think. They are 10th in terms of scrimmage yard allowed per game, which is better than other teams considered to have better defenses, such as the Bears, Packers and Browns. They've got the 5th best rushing defense in the league too, something which Seattle have as a part of their identity, despite Russell Wilson's stellar season.
It's easy to see why the Seahawks are favorites here, their offense is at times unstoppable, and their defense has also improved over the past few games, but I think they could struggle to cover the spread here. I'm very confident that they'll secure the win but a 10 point spread will be tough to cover against a defense that has improved strongly throughout the season. While I don't love the Giants offense, I also don't think the loss of Daniel Jones is a gamechange, with the sophomore failing to really impress in 2020.
