The Philadelphia Eagles, 3-7-1, enter the week coming off a disappointing effort & loss against the Seattle Seahawks. A loss that saw the defense once again give them a chance to win but the offense couldn’t come through.
The Green Bay Packers, 8-3, enter the week coming off their 8th win of the season. After blowing a 14-point lead at halftime vs the Colts, the Packers rebounded with a dominating performance against the Bears.
Last time the Eagles played in Green Bay, Miles Sanders & Jordan Howard stole the show. The duo combined for 152-yards on the ground, 28-yards throw the air, & 3-touchdowns. Last week, Miles Sanders had his lowest usage rate in an Eagles uniform. With Jordan Howard activated from the practice squad, the Eagles could re-introduce a package & duo that dominated Green Bay last season.
Darius Slay took full responsibility for has poor game last week against DK Metcalf. But, after being a late addition to the injury report, Slay is questionable against Green Bay. If Slay can’t go, it would be Christmas morning for Davante Adams, who is averaging 103-yards on 8-receptions since returning from injury in Week5. Adams also has a touchdown reception the last six weeks.
Philadelphia will look to rebound after scoring only 17-points for the third week in a row. Last week against the worst ranked defense. But, Philadelphia must stop the 4th ranked Packers offense, who average the most points per game.
Green Bay will focus on keeping its offense balanced. An offense that has scored 40+ points three times & 30+ points eight times already this season. But, Green Bay must get past an Eagles defense that is giving up an average of 18-points per game over the last five weeks.
The Eagles defense was torched by DK Metcalf last week. This week it doesn’t get any easier with Davante Adams. Not to mention, a much better run game, led by Aaron Jones, & a quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, who is having one of his best statistical seasons of his career. All this should be too much to handle for the Eagles on Sunday.
