NFL Week 14 Picks: Minnesota Vikings vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Predictions
Minnesota Vikings vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Predictions
- Minnesota have covered the spread in 7 of their last 8 games as underdogs against NFC South teams
Quite often when I study a game before placing a wager it takes 30 seconds. You look at the spread, injury reports, recent results and trends. This game though took some time and it's a very tough game to call.
The Bucs enter this game as 7 point favorites and sit on a 7-5 record and behind the Saints in their division. The Vikings also sit second in their division with a 6-6 record. When you look at the rosters too it's clear who has the more talent. We don't need to go into names but we're all well aware of the incredible array of talent that the Bucs have on offer.
Minnesota only beat the Jags in overtime and gave their dreadful offense an easy day. James Robinson had over 100 scrimmage yards and it wouldn't be a surprise to see to see Ronald Jones do well here. The Bucs will be well rested having been on bye last week. All of this is leading toward me backing the Bucs to cover isn't it?
Well, no. I'm taking the Vikings +7 because this feels like it's a more important game for the Vikings. I'm fully expecting a Bucs win but what is clear is that Minnesota need to keep checking up wins in the win column if they want to see the postseason and I see their desire, their grit and their dominant run game, to get them within 7 points of Tom Brady and co.
