Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Predictions
- The Jaguars have lost their last 11 games
The Jaguars have covered the spread in four of their last five games, despite losing all of them. In that time they've held the Vikings, Browns, Packers and Texans close, with the only blowout coming from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Titans however come into this on the back of a humbling loss to the Cleveland Browns. That should lead me to taking the Jags and the points here, except I'm not.
Jacksonville's overtime loss to the Vikings would have hurt them and I think it'll have a mental impact upon the team. On the opposite side, I think the Titans loss will only fire the team on, leading them to execute properly here.
When you take results out of it and look at the teams, all things point towards a strong Titans victory. The Jaguars aren't good at defending the run, and they've given up 4th most yards to running backs. That's not a good place to be in when you're welcoming Derrick Henry to town and I'd expect the fridge-sized RB to have a big afternoon. If they oversell to protect against the run then it'll only allow AJ Brown and Corey Davis more room to operate, and the Jags are already the 6th worst in yardage allowed to wideouts.
It's going to be very hard for Doug Marrone's team to scheme against this Titans offense, and even though the Tennessee defense is far from elite, they'll be able to outscore Jacksonville with ease, leading me to think they cover the spread here.
