Brian Good gives us his pick for the NFC East clash between the Eagles and Cowboys
ANALYSIS

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys Predictions

  • The Eagles average 3.1 sacks per game, tied for 2nd in the NFL

I hate betting on the Eagles. I already have enough emotionally invested in games that I don’t feel the need to also risk my hard-earned money when they inevitably disappoint. Having said that, I’m all over them this weekend against the Cowboys.

Since Jalen Hurts has taken over at QB, the Eagles have beaten the NFC South champion Saints and taken a very good Arizona Cardinals team down to the wire. Hurts’ presence in the lineup has opened up the playbook and provided the team with a spark.

Sure, the Cowboys have won two straight, but they have beaten an atrocious Bengals team and got a bit lucky against the Niners, as Nick Mullens and the rest of the team turned the ball over four times and basically handed Dallas the win.

Both these teams are similarly bad right now, but the Eagles are playing better football and can easily win by more than a field goal.

It’s hard to take much from the first time these teams met this season as they both had different quarterbacks under center. The Eagles still had Carson Wentz as their starter and the Cowboys were starting Ben DiNucci for an injured Andy Dalton. Either way, the Eagles came out on top in that one, 23-9.

Another positive for the Eagles is the return of wide receiver DeSean Jackson to the lineup. Jackson has spent the majority of the season injured, but he’s been activated off of the IR for this week’s game.

I think Hurts is going to be able to put up big numbers against a bad Cowboys defense and I like the chances of the Eagles defense putting the clamps on Dalton.

Both these teams need a win if they want to stay alive in the race for the NFC East, so I expect a passionate game that could come down to the wire.
