Brian Good previews today's Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers game and gives us his pick
ANALYSIS

Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers Predictions

  • Denver averages 19.7 points per game this season

I’m not convinced we’re going to get a touchdown in this game. I’m only half kidding when I say that but I don’t trust either of these teams to put up points, and I expect a low-scoring, ugly game in LA on Sunday.

The Chargers have the better offense of these two teams, but even they have been inconsistent. Sure, they put up 30 in a win over Las Vegas in their last game, but they also averaged 12.33 points per game in their 3 games prior and were shutout by the Patriots.

LA averages 23.4 points per game this season, good for 20th in the NFL. Justin Herbert is on his way to multiple Pro Bowls and MVP awards if he keeps progressing, but their offense as a whole has sputtered.

On the other end, the Denver offense has been one of the worst in the NFL this year. Denver comes into Week 16 averaging 19.7 points per game, 28th in the league. They’ve scored 20 or fewer points in five of their last six games, including a 19-point performance last week.

Drew Lock hasn’t shown the chemistry needed with some of his better receivers in order to put up big points, and I expect that to continue on Sunday.

LA is also expected to be without Keenan Allen, which is another reason to expect the Charger offense to struggle. Something like 21-13 or 24-17 sounds right to me. Even if both teams reach the mid-to-low 20s we’re safe here, so I’m going to be going with the under.
