2021 Super Bowl Predictions: First Touchdown Scorer Prop Picks
Super Bowl LV is just around the corner now and everything is building toward the biggest game in football. There's so much to look forward to on OddsChecker including a variety of picks on the prop markets, in addition to the traditional markets. In this article we're looking at the best value in the First Touchdown scorer market.
Super Bowl LV First Touchdown Scorer Prop Picks
Darrell Williams @ +1600
Against the Bills we saw Darrell Williams out-touch Clyde Edwards-Helaire at 2:1 and I'd expect that to continue in the Super Bowl, particuarly in the red zone. Every since that first game of the season, in which CEH struggled on the goal line, we've seen the Chiefs avoid using him in those positions. That to me really boosts the value on two other players. The first of which is Darrell Williams. I'm not convined that he's a great back but when you're a couple of yards out, the team could look to him to pound the rock over the line. At 16/1 to open the scoring he offer real value.

Antonio Brown @ +1875
I was incredibly close to selecting Cameron Brate here, at +2200 he could offer value given that the Chiefs aren't elite at defending against tightends, but ultimately I decided to go for AB. Brown's arrival in Florida was very much down to Tom Brady who really campaigned the hierachy to sign his man. Brown has repaid Brady's trust, keeping quiet and staying out of trouble while also delivering on the field.
It's expected that AB will be fit enough to play and if he does then I can see this price shortening. He missed last week's Conference Championship game with an injury but in the 5 games before that he'd scored 5 touchdowns and looks like an option in the red zone, where AB seems to be able to use his feet to find space, with the opposition's #1 cornerback often shadowing Mike Evans.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prop Picks
Patrick Mahomes @ +2200
The second player who could be a beneficary of the Chief's lack of trust in CEH is Patrick Mahomes. With their love of the RPO there's every chance we could see Mahomes pull of a run into the endzone. He has form too, we've seen Mahomes burst into the endzone many times, including last year's Super Bowl in which Mahomes opened the scoring with a 1-yard rush. At 22/1 this looks like another value play.
